Frequently Asked Questions When Selecting A Tax Relief Company

Before hiring any tax compnay to resolve your tax problems, cost should be a major consideration and concern. The free consultation is available to any taxpayer (individual or business) encountering IRS or State tax problems. During the consultation we gather your information about your specific tax issues and financial situation. The free consultation should last 30-60 minutes. After the consultation we will have a much better understanding of your specific situation. We may determine that you don't require professional help and give you the advice of how to fix your problem yourself. If we determine that you would benefit from professional help, we will explain the services we make available to you and walk you through how the tax problem solving process works. At that same time, we will give you a comprehensive quote. You will always know of the total cost of our services upfront. There are no hidden fees or fine print for additional fees. You can be assured that there will never be any pressure to utilize our professional services.

There are firms that are aggressive and will answer the question how much by quoting a low fee of $500 - $3,000 without taking the time to understand your situation. These firms quote fees and will entice you to sign up with them without telling you the total cost is much more because the quoted fee doesn't include additional fees that can total thousands of dollars more than you were quoted. This will never happen with The W Tax Group. We have 3 IRS lawyers overseeing the entire process making sure our clients get the absolute best in class service.

You will also receive a 30-day money back guarantee from us. If you are not satisfied with our services, we will always give you your money back.

We also understand that most of our clients are encountering financial hardship or crisis. We will always work with the client to make our services more affordable. Unlike others who demand full payment up front or within a short period of time, we will make sure to give you an economic solution that will give you the time you need to pay the expense of getting your taxes resolved. Our #1 mission for our clients is to reduce their stress from their tax problems and make sure the payment terms of your fee don't add to what we know is already a stressful situation.

Nominal Investigation Fees

Some tax companies will never quote a tax fee without doing a thorough investigation of the client's situation. They gather all of your information and get copies of all your tax transcripts from the IRS and or state. They only quote a fee when they have a complete understanding of your situation and what will be required to resolve it for you. Quoting a fee without all the facts surrounding your situation is not transparent. A doctor won't tell you that you need surgery until they have done x-rays and all other tests to make sure they're addressing your symptoms correctly.

A tax firm shouldn't quote you a fee based on a 30-minute consultation. They need to be absolutely certain that they have all the facts so they can give you a detailed strategic plan of how to resolve your tax problem along with a flat quote with no hidden fees to resolve your tax problem.

Hourly Billing Basis

Some companies will want to bill you by the hour. Though this is how lawyers charge clients in matters of litigation, tax problem solving is not litigation. A qualified and experienced tax team should always be able to quote you a flat fee after their investigation. Once the investigation is completed, they will know from experience the tax best suited to your situation and the time and effort required to implement it for you.

Flat Fee Quotes

Some tax companies will quote you a flat all-inclusive fee based on a 30-minute consultation. Their fee will be based on a conversation with you and they will be quoting you a fee without all the knowledge they need to truly understand your situation. Many of these firms have add on fee clauses in the event your situation warrants more time and work than they anticipated. If your situation requires less time and work than anticipated most won't reduce their flat fee quote. Beware of companies that quote a flat fee without doing a thorough investigation. If you do elect to choose one of these, make absolutely certain that their contract doesn't give them the ability to charge additional fees in the future.

A perfect example of this is a situation we recently encountered at The W Tax Group. A taxpayer called in a panic over a $270,000 tax balance they received from a state. A flat fee quote would have possibly resulted in a fee that reflected the necessary work to resolve a back-tax liability of that size. We performed our investigation and were able to find out that this taxpayer had mistakenly filed wrong returns to 2 states mixing them up. After our investigation we were able to tell the taxpayer what they needed to do to fix the mistake on their own.

Yes, you should do your homework before making a decision on the right company to represent you. For starters make sure that a company has the Better Business Bureau stamp of approval. Go to the Better Business Bureau website www.BBB.org and do a search to determine if any complaints have been made about the company and its business practices. Google and Trustpilot reviews are reviews made by actual customers that used the company, so that's a good resource as well. You should also ask if the company can provide you with a list of previous clients that you can call to verify their experience and customer satisfaction with the company. Do a google search of the company asking to see any customer complaints. Lastly, go to sites like www.ripoffreport.com, reportfraud.ftc.gov to make sure your doing business with a company that has exhibited a pattern of consistent customer satisfaction rather than dodging complaints.
